This is something I have been intending to try for a long time
- using Ear Plug Tunnels for the
form or
core of a Beaded Bead.
- First of all, they have to be Tunnels if you want to string them for a Bracelet or Necklace.
- Secondly, if they have a flare, then it must be a Double Flare. (A Single Flare will have the beadwork sliding off one end.)
- With the ones that look like 2 wheels on an axle, one 'wheel' will screw off, (making starting easier), and therefore may need glue applied before screwing back on.
This is what I did to find out how many beads would fit across. . .
- 2mm gold 'axle' plug, Ladder stitch Maria George Bugle beads (7mm), Ladder stitch Czech Seeds (11/o) over bugles. The MG bugle beads were not consistent in size, and without the seed beads did not reach the 'rim' of the 'wheel'.
- 2mm steel 'axle' plug, Ladder stitch Delica Cylinder 8/o's.
- 1.6mm steel 'axle' plug, Ladder stitch Delica Cylinder 10/o's.
- 2mm gold 'axle' plug, Ladder stitch Toho Sead beads 8/o's.
That's given me a bit of an idea how many of what size beads will fit across the 'axle'.
Now to try some more...
